DRAINING AND TREATMENT FOR RESIDUAL WATERS IN BORBA
The town of Borba is provided with the draining of domestic residual waters and residual pluvial waters, in distributive network (part of the Town), that is, the former are directed to the residual water treatment station (ETAR) and the latter are directed to the brook of Borba.
The “on the raise” component of residual waters is also licensed to the AdCA: emissary (from the last box) and treatment station.
The ETAR of Borba was already rehabilitated under the cover of this license, even though it’s not functioning.
DRAINING AND TREATMENT FOR RESIDUAL WATERS IN ORADA, BARRO BRANCO, NORA, AND RIO DE MOINHOS
All these villages are provided with the draining of domestic residual waters and a Treatment Station. In the same way these ETARs are licensed, being the effluent collection network still a responsibility of the Town Council.
Except Nora, all the ETARs are disabled. Its reactivation is part of the projects of the AdCA. The ETAR of Nora is a lagunagem (transformation into a lagoon) being this also later rehabilitated.
PROJECTS
The “on the raise” component of residual waters is also licensed to the AdCA: emissary (from the last box) and treatment station.
The ETAR of Borba was already rehabilitated under the cover of this license, even though it’s not functioning.
Part of the projects of the AdCA is rehabilitation of the ETARs of Orada and Nora, and the construction of a new TEAR in Rio de Moinhos which will also receive the effluents from Bairro Branco and Talisca. The present ETAR of Bairro Branco should be destroyed.
We draw your attention to this new ETAR of Rio de Moinhos, which will a semi-industrial part regarding the characteristics of the effluent of this city.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The effluent draining network should be properly used by each citizen, so:
• It should be used for domestic effluents - washing waters from kitchens and bathrooms.
• While there’s no way to separate kitchen oils, this should not be directed to the public network: they should be well closed and directed to the Solid Urban Waste Collection Network.
• It’s necessary to pay attention to the connexions done by private people to the sewer and pluvial networks. SEWERS MUST NOT BE CONNECTED TU PLUVIAL NETWORKS (that’s why gullies present such nasty smells in the Summer) AND YOU SHOULD NEVER CONNECT PLUCIAL TO SEWER NETWORKS if you have any doubt please contact the Municipal Services.
Industrial residual waters should never be connected to the municipal network without a previous permission from the responsible entity. THE WRONG USE OF THE SEWER NETWORK CAN CAUSE IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGES IN THE TREATMENT STATIONS .
• In works always be careful about duly conditioning sands and other materials. Besides accidents, rain causes its accumulation in the gullies, and in the pluvial water network also causing obstructions, torrents and inundations.
• NEVER wash cement mixers or direct cement waste to the gullies – that will obstruct the pluvial water draining network.
