Borba privileges and excellent communication network, with connections to any place in the country. The most important road is the A6, the highway connecting the two Iberian capitals, Lisbon and Madrid, passing by the district capital Évora, entering Spain through Badajoz, and which allows the connection with the south of our neighbouring country through Sevilla.
As an alternative to this road, the EN4 (National Road 4) connects the region of Lisbon, via Vendas Novas, Montemor-o-Novo, Arraioços, Estremoz, passing by Borba and continuing to Elvas, with posterior connection to the A6 in the access to Badajoz, via Caia frontier. This way has connection to Évora, through the EN255. Another access road to Borba is the IP2 (Main Itinerary 2), with the characteristics of a fast tracking, establishes the connection north/ south from Bragança to Vila Real de Santo António , passing through Guarda, Covilhã, and Castleo Branco and traversing the whole Alentejo, from the north, Portalegre, passing by Évora and connection to Beja continuing until the Algarve windward. The Variante to the EN255, between Borba and Vila Viçosa, allows who leaves the A6 a faster access to this last place and to the surrounding municipalities.
