The book O Concelho de Borba was published in 1907 by the priest António Joaquim Anselmo, an erudite man born in Borba who left us in this work the first and only monograph totally dedicated to the municipality. Besides the historical and artistic notes, he also left us in this small book the testimony of countless aspects of the Borba society in the beginning of the 20th century.
The value of this monograph, still updated after being written, led the Town hall of Borba to publish this work in a fac-simile edition in 1984 and 1997.
